In cooperation with HagueTalks, the Bertha von Suttner Peace Institute organized a student event on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the Humanity House. The event included speakers Deepti Choubey from OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) and Marzhan Nurzhan from Abolition 2000. Moderator Alyn Ware, who is the Global Coordinator for PNND (Parliamentarians for Nuclear Nonproliferation and Disarmament) guided the audience through a debate that discussed how one can find a fulfilling career in peace and disarmament institutions. The debate was followed by the screening of a documentary Where The Wind Blew about nuclear disasters in Kazakhstan during the Cold War. Click on peace-institute.com/news to read Marzhan’s speech.
